Suplemento con vitamina K para el control metabólico en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. Revisión Sistemática

Resumen

Objetivo: Determinar el efecto del suplemento con vitamina K sobre el control metabólico en los pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Materiales y métodos: Revisión sistemática de ensayos controlados aleatorizados (ECA) en 5 bases de datos. Dos autores seleccionaron los estudios y extrajeron información. El riesgo de sesgo se evaluó con la herramienta de la colaboración Cochrane. Los desenlaces primarios fueron glucosa plasmática, Colesterol total, LDH y HDL. Utilizamos diferencia de medias (MD) para evaluar el efecto en desenlaces continuos. Usamos el modelo de efectos aleatorios. Resultados: Incluimos 2 ECAs (n=100). La vitamina K redujo los valores de glucosa plasmática, pero esto no fue significativo (MD -14.58; IC95% -35.95 a 6.78; p=0.18) en comparación con el grupo placebo. El suplemento con vitamina K no tuvo efecto significativo en cuanto a los valores de colesterol total (MD -1.22; IC95% -21.02 a 18.57; p=0.90), HDL (MD -3.61; IC95% -18.44 a 11.22; p=0.63) y LDL (MD -0.69; IC95% -5.81 a 4.43; p=0.79) comparado con el grupo placebo. Conclusiones: El uso suplementario de vitamina K no tiene efecto significativo en el control metabólico de pacientes diagnosticados con DM-2.
